To-Do List
Merged from Status & Actions + every open thread in the wedding fileEach item below is cross-checked against the latest emails and bookings, so a few status lines have moved on from what's written in the spreadsheet itself. Items in red are genuinely open questions with no answer on file yet.
Church & ceremony
High priorityIn progress- Draft and print the order of service — readers (Rebecca Green, Elliot Greenwood), bible reading (Toni Walsh) and witnesses (Meg West, James West) are all confirmed; the booklet itself isn't made yet.
- Finalise the three hymns (opening / mid-service / closing) with Richard Goodall.
- Banns: third and final reading at St Margaret's is Sunday 19 July. After it, Zorah Baig at All Saints West Dulwich will email the banns certificate — forward it on to Daniel Walters.
- Final planning call with Daniel Walters is booked: Friday 31 July, 5pm UK (by call).
Catering
High priorityContract confirmed- Menu and contract with Shakespeare Kitchen are locked (£8,571.24, 120 guests, confirmed 30 June).
- Still open: tea/coffee service, and table linens — venue only supplies paper napkins, so Ed & Laura are sourcing tablecloths themselves.
- A new "Estimate 1463" arrived from Shakespeare Kitchen on 6 July, not yet reconciled against the confirmed £8,571.24 contract. Worth checking with Ian Jobbins what it covers before assuming it's just an amendment.
- The dietary list sent to Ian Jobbins is out of date. The live RSVP export has ~20 dietary notes on file (see Who's Who → Dietary requirements), well beyond the five originally flagged — send Ian the full current list.
- Send the finished table plan to Ian once it's signed off (still outstanding since the 15 June meeting).
Venue & drinks
Medium priorityIn progress- Confirm the keg coupler type with Chloe Gee so she can check whether The Medley has one, or source a non-standard one.
- Bring the "Starford Lager" tap badge (and any other beer badges) to the venue.
- Confirm how many of each cocktail are wanted for the one-hour cocktail service.
- Venue balance of £3,720 due 24 July.
- Wet-weather taxi quote still open — ongoing thread with Royal Cars (Mohammed Yahya) for a St Margaret's → Medley fallback if the Port Meadow walk isn't viable in rain; not yet quoted or booked.
Band & music
Medium priorityIn progress- Truly Medley Deeply balance of £3,120 due 24 July.
- The draft day schedule lists the first dance twice — once to DJ music at 19:15, and again as "Band – First Dance & First Set" around 20:00. Decide which is real and tell both the DJ and the band.
Photography & video
Medium priorityBooked- The Graces Photography balance of £2,240 due 22 July.
- Ed Kirwan is down as videographer — sort a camcorder / equipment plan with him.
- No dedicated group-photo slot appears in the schedule between the ceremony ending (13:45) and the walk to the reception (14:00) — worth confirming with The Graces where photos actually happen.
Rings
Medium priorityIn progress- Ed's ring (77 Diamonds, 4mm platinum court) is dispatching 14 July, arriving ~15 July at Peabody Cottages. Nothing more to do.
- Laura's ring order is "with the workshop" at Queensmith (confirmed 2 July) but the exact option was never confirmed in writing — plain twist band (£1,110) vs diamond scallop band (£1,440). Worth a quick double-check with Laura.
Suits & outfits
Medium priorityIn progress- Groomsmen morning-suit hire (Moss Bros, regular-fit tails, sky-blue double-breasted waistcoat) enquiry sent 1 July for the 8-person party — Ed, George Stapleton, Mark Stapleton, Chris Murphy, Tom Kilford, Harry Wilson, Tom Stevens, George Rendall. In-store measuring/ordering visit at Moss Bros Broadgate confirmed 6 July — worth double-checking with Ed which appointment slot this covers. Order needs to be ready to collect 4 days before the wedding.
- Ed's own suit is still undecided between three trialled options: Percival (personal shopping, 3 June), Moss Bros Broadgate (styling appointment, 10 June), and SELECTED (multiple sizes ordered and delivered 24 June to compare fit).
- Chris Murphy is MC on the day, not a groomsman — Ed is sorting him a suit separately regardless (added 6 July).
- Laura's dress is done — still need to buy the veil and shoes.
- Flower-girl dresses and Theo's outfit are not yet sorted.
Flowers
Medium priorityDecided- Decided: Sara Jakeman at Bloomin' Chic (per the planner spreadsheet's Status & Actions tab — Caroline, the friend option, wasn't taken forward).
- 1 bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets (repurposed as table décor), 9 buttonholes, bud vases for the tables, and 2 entrance urns moved from the church to the Medley after the ceremony.
Friday cricket day
High priorityIn progress- Food & drink for the cricket day is still unresolved (£500 estimated, nothing booked yet).
- Balliol venue visit is 19 July at 15:00 — same day as the final banns reading, so the two need juggling on the day.
- RNG Classics car hire: enquiry sent, cars confirmed available 21 August — still need to pick a specific car and confirm the day's plan with Robbie Gillison.
- Team sheet is live below and reads straight from RSVPs — drag names in as people confirm.
Seating & stationery
Low priorityIn progress- Two draft table plans exist (see Table Planner) — needs final sign-off, then goes to Ian Jobbins.
- The top table itself has two different draft layouts — still deciding between them (see Table Planner).
- Stationery — table plan chart, welcome sign, menus, name cards — not yet started.
- Table setting — order tablecloths and candles from Jess.
Accommodation
High priorityMostly booked- Cotswold Lodge Hotel: Feature Room confirmed for Ed, 20–23 August.
- Dove House Farm confirmed for the bridal party, Thursday–Sunday — balance of £3,750 due 20 July. Ed & Laura also stay here with siblings 23–25 Aug, after the wedding.
- 92 Kingston Road: payment 2 of 2 (£805) due 5 August.
- Groomsparty accommodation confirmed: Airbnb "Spacious Oxford Home in the Heart of Jericho" (Kingston Road), Friday & Saturday nights, booked 5 July — Ed joining them Friday night. George Stapleton staying elsewhere (TBC); Chris Murphy (MC, not groomsman) is at the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford instead.
- Guest parking: 2 spaces secured on a friend's driveway at 6A Rawlinson Road via Ed's mum Liz.
- Kellogg College enquiry (Aug 2025) was never confirmed — safe to let lapse unless still needed.
Hair & makeup
Medium priorityBooked- Bridal by Charley — deposit paid, balance of £1,327 due 8 August.
Cake
Low priorityNot started- No supplier, flavour or design chosen yet — the one item on the whole list with genuinely nothing decided.
